I've traveled many a road, and many a mile.  This is one of the greatest Family-Style Mexican restaurants I've been too.  And, I've been to Mexico.  Not some Cancun resort, but, places like Mexico City, Guerrero, etc.

The fact that this place exists in small town Indiana is surprising, and inviting.

The Chile Relleno is one of the best I've had, with a house recipe sauce unlike any other, instead of just a red or green sauce.  It's some kind of Crema/Spice Awesomeness.

Please get out of your homes & neighborhoods & check out a real Gem

I love this place!! I worry that they may be gone when I least expect it. It was Friday and they weren't busy at all. The wait staff is the family and they care about their restaurant! We had the taco special on the board and it didn't disappoint. Delicious food, great cocktails, timely delivery.  I hope they get more fans!

First off parking is a bit confusing the first time visting. There are a few parking spaces directly behind the restaurant next door to the Town Hall PLUS directly across the street behind the Church. Then you just walk across Tansel Rd. to enter through the back entrance. Unfortunately two large box trucks were taking up three of the back parking spaces during lunch. There are two entrances with one from the back parking lot next to Town Hall and in front off of Crawfordsville Road. When I asked about the parking situation the owner walked out with me to show me where additional parking is. Super nice man.

El Tejaon has only been open since the end of May, 2017. The owner is aware of the less than 6 month life expectancy at this location but is determined to change that curse. I received a warm greeting and seated immediately. I caught the tail end of the lunch crowd with only two other tables of patrons dining in the restaurant. However, more folks arrived throughout my visit. One wall is covered in a rustic, warm wood with turquoise walls, soft sage booths and many tables. Very easy to
    accommodate large groups.

The salsa is mild and flavorful with mostly a tomato base and a touch of cilantro. The chips were fresh, warm and crisp.

We ordered the Chicken Enchiladas Verdes served with 3 enchiladas, rice and beans ($9.99) and a side  Chiles Relleno. The chicken enchiladas were in a thin corn tortilla stuffed with pulled chicken and topped with a mild verdes sauce. The rice was light and fluffy with a mild flavor. I ordered one Chiles Relleno which was large, battered with a light, fluffy batter, deep fried, and filled with a soft, white gooey cheese then topped with even more cheese. Delicious and if you love cheese then try this.

The service was excellent and our server was friendly with lunch arriving quickly and the staff checking on us often. Easy to get in and out for a quick lunch.

It's nice having two new Mexican restaurants to choose from in the little town of Clermont. We'll definitely be back soon.

Some of the best chips and salsa I've ever had. Very friendly service. We went in and ordered our food to go. Had our food in about 15 min. I had the al pastor tacos which were spicy and delicious served street taco style (onions and cilantro with double layer corn tortilla). Kids had regular beef tacos and my husband loved his enchilada meal. Super cheap lunch specials for $5.99.
